Simulation and Simulacra

This installation was placed in front of Georgian First Channel to protest the alternative news and propaganda that is created by this channel

Three decades have passed since Baudrillard first created the theory of ‘Simulation and Simulacra,’ proposing how a simple representation can become reality, and to this day, TV remains one of the major interpreters of experienced reality. So Baudrillard would have loved Georgian First Channel, an example of how to convert reality into rainbows, butterflies, and flowers… and how announcing a Simulacra as a new reality over and over again pushes us into a new Simulation of political and social being – a false reality that is, in fact, financed by the pocket of the people!
